San Angelo Restaurant Association has teamed w/ Shannon Hospital and its diabetes advisory board to help local restaurants provide healthier menu choices for those in our community who want to eat out but have restrictions in there diets. This is a chance for us as a group to start reaching out to those in need who think twice about eating out as they find it hard to stay within there dietary guidelines.
You will find a green Shannon sticker by those restaurants who have worked with a Certified Diabetes Educator and fulfilled the requirements necessary to be included in this list of restaurants. They will help you find a way to eat within your daily routine. We as an association have deemed it important enough to start down this path to help our community.
For those restaurants who would like more information please contact Earl Mulley at the River Terrace Restaurant. For those in search of help on how to eat healthier, keep watch here for weekly tips provided by Shannon Diabetes Management Department.
Healthy Tip: Ask for gravy, sauces or dressings on the side so you can control the amount used.
Diabetes Alert Day 2011

In observance of Diabetes Alert Day 2011 (March 22), the NDEP needs your help to spread the word about the seriousness of diabetes, risk factors for diabetes, and the importance of family health history by encouraging people to take NDEP's Diabetes Risk Test.
